I am sure none of us sound minded cyclists would ever think about riding the streets at night without the proper reflective gear or clothing. A headlight and some sort of blinking warning lights are a must in twilight or night time riding. But, how many of of don’t even think twice about those same rational decisions during the day! Well maybe we should.

I frequently read other weblogs that deal with cycling in North and South Carolina. One interesting site that I found was bike greenville. James has some interesting insights in cyclist safety issues and two of his posts struck me as things that could be done in our county also.
Ron Fitzwater is an idiot! Who is Ron Fitzwater? He is a writer for the Boone, NC newspaper, The Ashe Mountain Times, that’s who. On October 25, 2007 Ron wrote the following article titled, Here’s My Point: Bikes Turn Parkway Into Parking Lot.

Description: Learn essentials of bicycle maintenance, traffic safety, nutrition, laws, energy conservation and clothing. This course will cover all the basics of bicycling in the classroom and then you’ll apply it in the streets.
