Pedal Force

After a several weeks of staring at my shiny new(ish) PedalForce RS2 frame, I finally have it in riding condition. There’s still a few changes I want to make to the bike, but for the near future, I’ll be riding it as is.

New MTB build

Last month I got a great deal on a full carbon MTB hard tail frame. So after a few days of deciding what I wanted to do with it I came up with the following build list.

  • Pedal Force MTB frame
  • Fox F32 100mm RLC fork
  • SRAM x.9 rear derailleur
  • SRAM x.Gen front derailleur
  • SRAM x.0 Grip shifters
  • Easton EC-90 carbon flat bar
  • Avid BB-7 disc brakes
  • Alligator 160mm rotors
  • Alligator iLink cables
  • Vuelta Team SL wheel set
  • Thomson Elite seat post
  • Race Face Deus Ex crank set
  • Crank Brothers Eggbeater pedals
  • Other miscellaneous parts

New to Nicole’s bike is Fizik handlebar tape. I am really liking this tape a lot. It is much easier to clean than any of the cork tapes I have used in the past. It also does not stretch so much that it becomes thin like some corks do. It does not have as much cushion as any of the gel/cork tape combinations but it is still comfortable on long rides on chip seal roads.

Back in the day AME used to make brake hoods in a variety of colors. It was a great way to accent your bike and make it your own. Well, there are now two other offerings that allow you to do the same thing. Hüdz and Far & Near. I already mentioned Hüdz in a previous posting, so now I am going to talk about the Far & Near hoods.

News Update

Been out of town all week and through the weekend, back this week and have a few things to write about.

Pedal Force Aeroblade

Finally finished. Photographed with training wheels, 50mm deep carbon tubulars. I have a RENN disk wheel coming tomorrow!

Okay over the past couple of weeks I have been able to sneak away from Mount Mitchell training long enough to start work on a new bike build.  After deciding on a frame and proper size there were just a few parts I was missing. Well to tell you the truth there are still a couple of parts missing but the bike can be ridden.
