This is the perfect opportunity to give back to the cycling community in the greater Charlotte area.
The next Morrow Mountain Bike MS training ride is this Saturday. Jeff is still looking for a few volunteers to help with rest stops and SAG duties.
Hours are from 7 AM until 2 PM. Jeff needs someone with a pickup truck to manage a rest stop and needs one more SAG vehicle. The SAG vehicle just needs to be able to carry 1 or 2 bikes. Please let Jeff know if you can help… the sooner the better. Click on Jeff’s name below to send him an email.
Thank you,
Jeff Viscount
The folks at our local MS chapter have asked Jeff Viscount to run the Morrow Mountain ride again as an MS Training Ride for the 2008 Bike MS event. Jeff has told them yes but he will need some help… Jeff needs to staff three rest stops and provide 2 SAG’s. If you can help please let Jeff know.
- The time commitment is 7 AM until 2 PM on Saturday the 19th.
- Not all volunteers will be needed for the entire day so if you can help but want to get out earlier than 2pm, Jeff can make that work.
- SAG’s will be reimbursed for gas while roaming the course.
- As always, a pick up truck moves you to the front of the line.
- The vertical climb is 4400 ft. if you ride. The vertical climb is zero if you help.
If you want to help let Jeff know ASAP so he can finalize the plans.
Please note start time is 8:00 AM
Start Site: Running Creek School
Directions: From 485, go East on 24/27 (Albemarle Rd). Turn Left on Hwy200. Turn Right on Bethal Church Rd. Turn Left on Running Creek Church Rd. Turn Left into the school parking lot.

Seemed like there was about 150 riders today. I think many of them were scared away by the threat of rain. Didn’t have any, as a matter of fact, it was a beautiful day for a ride.
Special thanks need to go out to all that helped put on the ride today, Jeff Viscount, the guys from Bicycles East, The Bee Team and Middle Ring Cycles. All you guys did a fine job manning the rest stops and making sure everyone was taken care of.
What a beautiful day for a ride. I don’t know how many other riders were there but the turnout looked great. Nicole and I had some things we wanted to try on the tandem. The start was great, out with the front runners but about 8 miles into the ride we hit a bump hard and Nicole’s saddle decided it would be a good time to tilt up in the front.
