Tour de Lions

Gray’s Chapel Lions Club presents the annual fabulous fun bicycle ride for charity. The 9th Annual Tour de Lions will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008.

New for 2008, 10, 20, 40 and…. 75 mile routes! Great roads, beautiful scenery, good people, scrumptious food & cold drink, tons of door prizes, benefiting great causes! Over 370 riders in 2007!

Don’t miss this one, it’s just  too good!

Mar 15, 2008 – Indian Trail, NC

Special Event to celebrate Brandon Elam’s wonderful courage he demonstrated in his fight against Cancer. Besides the bicycle rides there is a run and a walk also scheduled.

Bicycle Ride: Start time 9:00 AM Distance options: 8 mile, 20 mile, 40 mile or 60 miles. $20 if preregister before March 3, $25 online between March 3 – 12 and $25 on site registration.

In this first annual cycling event, each registered rider will pick up a random playing card at each of the four rest stops with the final card being received at the finish.

1st place wins $400, 2nd place wins $200 and 3rd place wins $100. It doesn’t matter how fast or slow you are, just the draw of the cards. All the proceeds from the event will go to the Matthews Help Center and the Mecklenburg Aquatic Center.

Miracle HillThis challenging ride will begin in downtown Greenville and end in Pickens County. The ride will include Paris Mountain and Caesar’s Head with nothing held back in the foothills of North Carolina. 75 and 40 mile ride options are also available.

Polar Bear Jersey2008 Ride for Courage: Polar Bear Metric Century:
Two routes fully-supported: Ride the traditional Polar Bear Metric Century or the 25-mile Courage Loop. There will also be a kid-friendly ride around the Our House area – weather permitting. More details to come. Help raise money for those fighting cancer! What’s your courage? 62-mile or 25-mile route, fully-supported.
