Quick notes and announcements

News Update

Been out of town all week and through the weekend, back this week and have a few things to write about.

Nicole has a new bike, a Cannondale Capo. I will post pictures and hopefully she will write up a little review.
I have a new Pedal Force Hardtail Carbon MTB. A review and pictures are forthcoming.
Floyd Landis will find out today whether or not his appeal was successful. If it is he will be recrowned the 2006 Tour de France champion.
In the next few weeks we will see many announcements from bike manufacturers about new models for 2009. Now might be the time to start shopping for your 2008 closeouts.

Quick notes

We are headed down to Spartanburg this afternoon to prepare for the Assault on Marion and Assault on Mount Mitchell tomorrow. Wish us luck. Thanks.

Quick Updates

The Incidental Cyclist is now available on PDA and Smartphones. You will not get all the features you see if you where using a computer and web browser but you can see new posts and comment. You just use the same url from your mobile device and the software is smart enough to modify the layout for mobile devices.

U.S. President George W. Bush rides a special edition of an Israeli made bicycle he received from Israel’s Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in Jerusalem May 15, 2008, in this picture released by the Israeli Government Press Office

The Bicycles East rides are postponed for this weekend, in its place is the Inaugural Poker Ride. Following the same route as last years Veteran’s Day Ride, starting and finishing in Matthews, NC. The metric century travels through much of scenic Union County. Don’t forget to stop at all the rest stops to pick up a playing card!

Nicole and I will be there on the Cannondale Tandem. It would be nice if another tandem or two would show up also. We would like to draft on occasion instead of having to pull everybody around the route.

Registration

Remember, all the proceeds from the event will go to the Matthews Help Center and the Mecklenburg Aquatic Center.

Only 18 spaces left as of Thursday midnight.
