Are you a cyclist? Do you want to do your part to fight Global Warming? You can demonstrate to the world that you are a concerned global citizen, by taking the Cliff Bar 2 Mile Challenge. It only takes a few minutes to set up your challenge. Just go to the Clif Bar 2 Mile Challenge website. Get out your bike and make sure it is ready. Clean it up, lube the chain, take it to your local bike shop. Then go to the challenge site and put in your address. Map out several locations within 2 miles of your address. Set a deadline for yourself for completing the challenge. Commit to riding to as many of those locations as you can. Ride your bike! When you are done, comment about it here or on the challenge site.

Winter Bicycling Challenges: Dark
Charlotte’s new light rail system, LYNX, will allow bicycles on anytime. In many cases the light rail line will replace existing bus routes. CATS buses allow riders to ‘bring their bikes’ with them as they are equipped with front mounted bicycle racks. LYNX will now offer an equivalent service.
There are a few restrictions, No motorized vehicles of any kind and no tandem bicycles.
blogHB-1677 provides a means for cyclists to LEGALLY deal with red lights that fail to detect bicycles. The bill allows cyclists (and motorcyclist too) to run a red light that does not trigger when a cyclist enters the activation loop. This bill was introduced Wednesday by Representative Mitchell Setzer. This amendment is in the transportation committee.
