Two new tandem frames, from France

Cyfac, a french bicycle manufacturer has two tandem frames in their 2010 lineup. Both available in custom geometries and handmade in their french workshop.

Le Duo Carbon Tandem

The ultimate in tandem performance. Le Duo Carbon features IM carbon that is custom-stratified to suit the desired geometry for the pilot-stoker pair. Utilizing kevlar reinforcement and specifically designed tandem tube profiles, Le Duo Tandem is a dream to ride for its great lateral stiffness, comfort, and substantial weight savings over steel, ti, and alloy models. Specifically set-up for touring, road, track or even more adventurous off-road purposes, Le Duo Carbon tandem is the gold standard.

Exclusively built as a FULL CUSTOM model, the LE DUO tandem features Cyfac’s trusted Nerv alloy in special sections custom-drawn for the demands of a tandem build. Featuring a proprietary tube configuration that is specially selected for both stoker and pilot, the Cyfac tandem is a frame uniquely designed and built for the two riders who make up the tandem pair. Available in track, road, touring, and MTB versions.

Priced at $9800 and $5400 respectively. The price point puts it considerably higher than comparable frames from US builders. The geometry is completely custom, usually an upcharge from US builders. They even have a size designed for 650C wheelsets.
