What a week, I finally had a very serious email/voicemail exchange with the frame builder. Actually it was not really an exchange, more like I send several emails, then threatening voicemails and finally get one email in return. This time I get the name of the sander in California. So I call and leave a voicemail on Wednesday night then follow it up with an email Thursday morning. The email is also sent to the business manager.
Instead of yelling about the endless delays and excuses I remember something my mother used to tell me, “You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.” So I write our story, telling them just how important the frame is to us and if there is any way that it can be reprioritized to the top of the list of projects. I do not get a reply from the sander but his partner sent me a reply about how touched he was about Nicole and my trip from morbid obesity and heart attack to spending so much time together riding.
A few hours later I get a follow-up email saying that the frame has been sitting there in California for about a month and now it will get done ASAP. Once the sanding is done and shipped back to Arizona all that will remain will be to paint the frame and fork and ship it to us here.
This really wasn’t much of an issue until the communication broke down. I was ok with delays, they are inevitable when you are working with a craftsman. In this case multiple craftsmen. So before too long we will actually have a tandem to ride. Nicole and I can’t wait to get some miles under our belts and attempt Morrow Mountain again, this time much faster, or as Phil Liggett might say “dancing on the pedals in an immodest way!”
Hopefully the next update will be that the frame is on it’s way to North Carolina. We can’t wait.

I’m anxious to see it too when you get it. Bo purchased a C-Dale this weekend. So, when you and Nicole get it all ready to ride, let us know and we’ll join you. Maybe we won’t slow you down too much.
