Like my uncle and cousin, I don’t ride much during the winter, aside from some intervals on the trainer about once a week. I barely even look at bike related news/sites during the winter. But there are some other hobbies I have that fill in the void.
While I’m not nearly as dedicated to photography, I do enjoy taking pictures. Earlier in the fall, I finally got around to buying a new DSLR, a Canon Rebel XSi. About two weeks ago, I spent a long weekend in New York City, so to prepare for this, I bought a new tripod as well so I could get some nice shots in. I don’t just take shots in the winter, but I tend to read up on cameras and photo editing techniques/applications more during the winter months, as I’m indoors a lot more often. Here’s a few pictures taken with my new camera.
My other hobby that picks up significantly during the winter is music related – both listening to music, and playing my guitars. I hardly play at all when the weathers nice… I’d much rather be outdoors. But when its not so nice out, I like to pick up a guitar and pluck away for a little bit.
