December 2008

Well, its official, 2008 is over. We finished the year with another successful Bee Team ride. The day was beautiful, about 60° and sunny. To say it was a bit windy would be a serious understatement. The wind really blew. On one section of road even a paceline was only capable of 14 miles per hour.

NYE Riding

A route has been selected and cue sheets have been printed up and now final preparations are being made for a final ride of the year. Although there are many rides going on throughout the area, I will be participating in the 2nd Bee Team ride out of Waxhaw.

Winter Hobbies

Like my uncle and cousin, I don’t ride much during the winter, aside from some intervals on the trainer about once a week. I barely even look at bike related news/sites during the winter. But there are some other hobbies I have that fill in the void.

Cycling on Christmas Day

Wow, what a beautiful day. I had a chance to go out and do a short ride. This is the second day in a row. It is beginning to look like I am now motivated to start my season. It was 62° and sunny when I left my home. It was just a short trip around the few streets in Indian Trail and Stallings. The total mileage was about 14 miles, not much of a ride but it was still a ride nonetheless.

A little background noise.

There has been little written on this blog in the past couple of weeks, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy. WordPress has been upgraded to version 2.7. Now that won’t mean a lot for the visitors here but it does mean a lot for Nicole, Richard and myself as administrators/authors on this site.

I bought a new fancy carbon fiber tripod based on the reviews scattered throughout the web. I can say that I am very happy I did.
