Decisions, Decisions – Part 4

So what’s the good news? Well, there isn’t much at this point. I did have to rethink a few of the previous choices so to get everyone up to date here is where we are.

Decisions, Decisions – Part 3

With so many things decided, it is time to discuss some of the other “build kit” for the new tandem.

Stems, two of them. When designing the tandem we wanted to use as many non-tandem specific parts as we could. Using two road stems was one area we could get away from using the adjustable stoker stem. We will be using Ritchey WCS 4-Axis 44 stems. The front Captain’s stem is a 120 mm and the rear Stoker stem is 130 mm. The Ritchey stem is light and strong and a good looker too, especially in the new “wet black” finish.

50 on 50 Update

The first thing I would like to say is that I was a little disappointed that no one that promised to ride with me showed up this morning to help me with this milestone ride. But that was really ok since I managed to get two riders from Ann Marie’s Y ride to join me since they needed/wanted more miles. So At 9:30AM I headed out of Beatty Park to meet up with Angela and Sonya to ride some of rural Union County roads.

Sport drink recipes

Every once in a while I get asked about what I put in my water bottles. Well the answer depends. If I am doing rides of less than 2 hours the answer will usually be water, just plain water.

Water is one of those amazing liquids, it expands as it freezes becoming less dense. That’s why ice cubes float! It is also one of the most easily absorbed drinks in the human body.
