New MTB build

Last month I got a great deal on a full carbon MTB hard tail frame. So after a few days of deciding what I wanted to do with it I came up with the following build list.

I’ve recently purchased a Cannondale Capo SS/FG. I have only logged about 10 miles on it, between riding down to the pool and riding to the neighbors house, but even with so few miles I have to admit that I love this bike. I opted for the black frame with the graffiti writing it, and I am extremely happy with my choice. The gearing is 48-17 and it is fine for now, but I might change it out once I start riding it on the road more. All and all, it is a great bike for the price and I will be sure to write a longer review once I have had the opportunity to ride for a longer distance.

Jeff Viscount is having a 4th of July ride.

We will ride from the back lot of the Morrison YMCA at 8am on Friday the 4th.
Route: 50 miles…Out to Mineral Springs and back. Because the Waxhaw parade starts at 10am, we will come back via Sims & down Rehobeth to avoid downtown streets. With the addition of the Crow Rd. / Doster Rd. loop and a run up Crane on the return the mileage ends up right at 51.

New to Nicole’s bike is Fizik handlebar tape. I am really liking this tape a lot. It is much easier to clean than any of the cork tapes I have used in the past. It also does not stretch so much that it becomes thin like some corks do. It does not have as much cushion as any of the gel/cork tape combinations but it is still comfortable on long rides on chip seal roads.
