Ridge Rollers Velo is proud to host the 6th Annual Tour De Gaps Ride. Brought to you by White Sulphur Springs Physical Therapy.

Start time: Registration and Packet pickup at 7AM, riders off at 8AM.
Start location: Westwood Park, (1297 Galax Trail, Mt. Airy, NC 27030), see directions
Registration: Online registration available till midnight 8-20-08, after 8-20 registration will be available on day of event onsite
Cost: $25 for early registration (through midnight on 8-20-08), $30 for day of registration
Routes: 82 mile loop with 4 gaps or 50 mile loop without gaps, see routes for detail
Goodies: Free t-shirt and water bottle for all that register before midnight on 8-20-08. Limited number of t-shirts available for sale on day of event ($10)
Post Ride Meals: Pasta and salad with homemade desserts, drinks, etc. Free to all that ride, extra meals available for $5 when you register. Meal will be served from noon-4 PM.
Showers: You can shower for free after the ride at Reeves Community Center (see directions). Please bring your own towel and lock. It is about 5 miles to Reeves from Westwood Park.
Timing: We will have a clock and keep finishing times. Results will be posted on web page after the event. Previous best finishers are: 2007 Richard Bailey (4:33), 2006 Adrian Meyer (4:45), 2005 Gary Golding/Casey Vedder (5:01), 2004 Adrian Meyer, 2003 Thomas Cumby. We will give prizes to the first 3 overall finishers. Also a King of the Mountains prize will be given. We will track the first few riders to reach the summit of each climb and give a KOM prize based on total points for the whole ride.
Photos: Charlotte Sports Photos will be doing rider photos of the event.
Sag Support: We will have support vehicles patrolling the route with mechanics available. Please carry basics to fix flats, etc.
Rest Stops: We will have several rest stops with fluids and snacks available. There will be rest stops at The Fellowship Church in Ararat (mile 31 on the long route, mile 20 on the short route), Orchard Gap Deli (mile 48 on the long route) and St. Paul’s School (mile 57 on the long route, mile 35 on the short route). We will also have water bottles with fluids at the top of Squirrel Spur (mile 23) and Orchard Gap (mile 48) on the long route. See routes for details.
Charities: Proceeds will be used by the Ridge Rollers Velo to support cycling in the area and other local charities.
Massages: We will have post ride massages available after the ride for tips only. Thanks to Core Massage Therapy and Mountain Angel Spa-Massage for providing this service.
