3 Mountain Madness

A charity bicycle ride to the top of Pilot Mountain, Hanging Rock, and Sauratown Mountain

Where: Start and finish at Armfield Civic & Recreation Center

Time: Registration starts at 7 AM, Riders off at 8 AM

Length: Choose a century (95 mile) loop with three mountains, a 75-mile three mountain loop or a 41-mile rolling loop . You can also ride the 95 or the 75 mile loop and skip one or more of the mountain climbs.  The 75 mile loop without the mountain climbs is approximately 63 miles long.

Cost: If you register online before midnight on Wednesday May 28th  or if we receive your mail in registration on or before Wednesday May 28, the cost is $35.  After May 28th, cost is $40. Free T-shirt to all that register on or before May 28th.  The first 250 registrants will get a free goody bag and get their name on the shirt.   We will have a drawing for a free stay for 2 at  the Maxwell House B & B in Mt. Airy.  Be sure to check in after the ride to see if you are the winner!   Proceeds to benefit the Edward Armfield Civic and Recreation Center and other local charities

Support:  There will be 5 rest stops on the 95 and 75 mile loops and 2 rest stops on the 41 mile loop.  Rest stops will have fluids and light snacks.  Routes will be patrolled by a motorcycle club with pick up vehicles available.  We will have ham radio support to help speed support vehicles to riders who need aid. 

Lunch: Lunch will be served after the ride for all riders.  Extra meals can be ordered for $5.00 when you pick up your packet  if you have friends joining you after the ride.

Showers will be available at the civic center after the ride.  Please bring a towel and lock.

Massages available after the ride in the civic center (for tips only) from 12-4.  Diane Blakemore has put together therapists that will work the event.  Go to the multipurpose room after the ride or check with our staff at registration for info. 

Packet pickup will be day of ride from 7-8 AM or Friday night 5/30/08 from 6:30-8:30PM at the  Armfield Civic Center.
