DATE Sunday, May 4, 2008 (Rain Date: Sunday, May 18, 2008).
TIME Both the 30 and 50 mile rides start at 8:00am. The Family Fun Ride starts at 8:30am.
LOCATION The ride starts at “The Park” in Huntersville (formerly the Huntersville Business Park). The Park is located at 9920 Gilead Rd. (I-77, Exit 23).
RIDE DESCRIPTION Both the 30 and 50 mile routes will take you through the rolling hills of Huntersville, Davidson and Southern Iredell County. Follow the Route Sheets link for detailed route information. The Family Fun Ride will be held on the 1.8 mile inner loop of The Park, made famous by the Tuesday-Thursday group rides held there every winter. It has one short climb with lots of downhill. The loop will closed off to traffic during the event.
PARKING Please park in the designated parking lots. Follow the signs and/or parking attendants once you turn into The Park.
SAFETY All riders must wear helmets. This is an open road event without road closures. Huntersville Police will assist during the start of the ride and help coordinate traffic in downtown Huntersville only. Riders must obey all traffic laws.
SUPPORT Please carry simple repair tools, tubes and patch kits during the event. All routes will have bike mechanics stationed at rest stops and SAG support following the last riders on each route.
RAFFLE Be sure to enter the RAFFLE to win cool stuff from our sponsors, including two (2) seats at the Start/Finish VIP Section of the August 2, 2008 Presbyterian Hospital Invitational Criterium. Raffle tickets available at registration the day of the ride.
