Had a visit with the cardiologist Thursday morning. For the most part everything looks good. I only got a glimpse of the EKG and from what I saw nothing jumped out as glaring, but I am no expert. One more week off and then a cardiac stress test before I am officially cleared for cycling again.
Concerned about being on Aspirin and Plavix and the possibility of internal bleeding if I should have an accident, I had to remind the doctor that since I ride in Union County every time I go out I am at risk for something. If I lived my life afraid of every risk I encounter, that isn’t much of a life!
With this additional week off that will leave me nine weeks to train for Mt Mitchell. It will be a fairly rapid ramp up to the mileage so that I can finish comfortably. Hope everything goes well next week.
