The snow is gone, as quickly as it came and most rides will go back to their normal schedule. Please contact the ride organizers for details, as they decide later on in the week. Thinking

To my faithful readers, and anyone new to the site; since I am traveling for work this week I may not be able to post much. I will try to get some news up and post remotely. This also means no riding during this week. Sad

Due to inclement weather most of this weekends scheduled rides have either been canceled or are "show & go." Please check with the individual organizers of the ride to confirm if you are planning to go out riding this weekend.

2007 In Review

What an interesting year 2007 was. Even though I lost the bulk of my weight in 2006 I still started 2007 weighing about 240 pounds. By the end of the year I was between 202-207 pounds. It was a good year for weight loss.

I was able to meet and surpass a few goals set for 2007. One of the biggest was to complete the Assault on Mount Mitchell, I was able to complete it on my first attempt in 10:08. This year the goal is to shave off an hour.

Just for my readers, all the ride data that I post will now have an accompanying elevation chart. The chart currently is in kilometers distance and meters elevation, but it will give you an idea of the terrain you will be traversing.

Our Sunday Ride (01-13-08)

Just a few people showed up at the Waxhaw Elementary School on Sunday afternoon. It was in the low 50′s and overcast. Nicole and I did not want to ride very hard. The lack of sun made it feel colder than it actually was. Otherwise the ride was fairly uneventful. we did take a harder pull down part of Old Highway and Crow Road. No pictures, no Garmin Edge data, just a ride.
