Year End Ride

Well here it is 2007 is finally over. Had to get one more ride in this year. Weather was perfect, company was good. Too many hills in the middle. After 35 miles we hit a bunch of rollers on Landford Road. Started to drop back but Micah and Jeff helped drag me back to the group. The last climbs were tortuous. Here are the specifics:

Still needed 2.20 miles to reach my mileage goal, so I had to go back out and ride around the neighborhood a few times. It certainly has been a great year!

A great ride, got tired on the rollers on Landsdown. Took the Gu at Shiloh and 522. Didn’t kick in until you and I rode up Legend and Potter. A good ride to the end the year.

Yeah, great ride. I thank Bud for the wheel a couple times as I was pooped toward the end also. Wow…freaky ! I just looked at my cycling log which auto calculates total and average miles using Excel. I ended with 2007 total miles since loging on Jul 8, 2007. Is that wierd or what?

Peter, if it wasn’t for you guys I was really ready to give up there about miles 35-40. It was much faster than I thought it would be. Like someone said, “Why are we climbing at 18 mph?”

Jack, had some good pictures. We need to figure out how to get him into more of them.

By my calculations we averaged a speed of 16.8 mph (actual ride time).

My computer said 17.2, 17.3 based on cycle time not elapsed time.
