About as hill free as one can get around Waxhaw, this is the ride Coach likes to take those who have been neglecting their training on. Much loved by those who rode hard on Saturday and want a short recovery ride for Sunday afternoon.

BEGINNER CYCLISTS! You are invited to come out and ride!!!! At 2:00 on Sundays, we offer a separate ride that is a more relaxed, conversational pace with an average speed of 12-14mph for 15-20 miles. This is a great opportunity to meet other beginner cyclists and become more comfortable on your bike, riding in a group, adjusting to clipless pedals, etc. All you need is a road bike and helmet. We have a NO DROP policy, meaning someone will always be riding with you. Come out and ride with us!

Start Location:  Waxhaw Elementary School, 1101 Old Providence Road, Waxhaw, NC  28173

1st group 18+ mph, will leave first
2nd group 14-17mph, will leave second, approximately 5 minutes later
3rd group will be the beginners, 12-14 mph

Start Time:  2:00 PM, weather permitting

Route:  20-25 miles, map- Possible route map and cue sheet. map- Alternative route map and cue sheet. map- Alternative route map #2 and cue sheet.

Notes:  No ride if it’s below freezing or raining at the start. Strict no drop policy.

All Riders Should:

  1. Bring water and nutrition for a ride of this distance. Rest stops are limited.
  2. Be prepared for the forecasted weather.
