Garmin 605 and 705 delayed until Q1/2008

According to an article on GPSLodge.com, Garmin has confirmed that the Edge 605/705 units will not be available for the Christmas buying season and has been delayed until the first quarter of 2008. This news has also been posted on the Garmin store website.

Garmin wants to make sure ‘they get it right’ for the release of these products. Key features being that it has a color screen, navigable maps and supports ANT+ to gather data from wireless power meters. At least you can have one before training starts in earnest this spring!

I am an extreme gadget freak and currently own a Garmin Edge 305 and 205. This delay really won’t affect me too much, although others expecting Santa to bring them this new toy may be disappointed. I am sure that sometime in 2008 I may have to break down and buy one for myself.
