I can’t believe it is July 1st already. I think much of this denial is the result of not having the opportunity to be on the road riding either my single bike or tandem with Nicole. Well in another eight weeks things will be different. Just a few notes.
To say that it was a hot day is just a bit of an understatement. Richard and I did not ride but all that walking and driving was still a lot with the heat we had. In all we took 1515 images. Presented here are just a few teaser pictures. If you are interested in the 134 images we chose as the better ones you can see them all in the Morrow Mountain Gallery Page.
I have been asked privately by several people how I got the the point of deciding to have neck surgery next month. Instead of writing out my answer over and over again I though I would post here the sequence of events.
No I won’t be riding, but I will be on the Morrow Mountain State Park roadway to take some pictures of the fortunate few that brave this ride. For more details make sure you go to Jeff Viscount’s Weekly Rides website.
I will not be SAGing this ride but will be near the top of Morrow Mountain yelling out moral support and if I remember, I’ll ask Jeff to borrow his cowbell! All the images will be posted a few days after the ride in an album off the main Galleries page.
DSLR, but I bought one anyway! Ok, this has got to stop. Since I cannot ride until post neck surgery I have had to take up some of my spare time in other pursuits. The one that I enjoy most besides cycling is golf. Unfortunately if I can’t cycle I can’t play golf either. I move on to hobby number three, photography.
This weekend was busy for professional cycling. The Dauphiné Libéré was won by Alejandro Valverde. I sure hope that the Italian cycling authorities (CONI) allow him to participate in the Tour de France this year. Italian, you say, well yes. Seems that for his alleged involvement in Operation Puerto the Italians have banned him from any races on Italian soil for two years. The TDF takes a brief 80km (about 50 miles) run into Italy on stage 16. In all these type of cases it is usually a matter of he said/she said and this is no different. It is just a shame that one of the best cyclists in the world today will not be able to participate.
Please be patient as we work through some issues with Firefox and posts disappearing.
I apologize if you came to my site earlier today to find anything new and were greeted by a page that told you no posts were available. Seems that yesterday’s release of a new version of Wordpress and old versions of a widget or two, did not want to play nice together. Everything seems to be working now.
So even though I can’t be on the bike doesn’t mean I can’t purchase anything new to use the moment I can return to cycling. The newest gadget that we received is one of the hottest items in the adventure cam market, the VholdR ContourHD!
